Back to Normal?

I've been really busy,........too busy really. I've manager to get quite a bit accomplished though. I have my kids websites done. They haven't posted much and they're realy just starting to learn how to do it but my side is done atleast,........for now.

The living room is almost complete. I just have to finish the window and the front door trim and then touchup the paint,...andresand and stain the floor,.......run the wiring for the tv,.......you know,...the little stuff. But I'm closer than I was.

I've discovered that, as I get older, I am such a baby when I get sick. I don't won't to do anything, I don't want to say anything, I don't won't to even move. Just give me the remote and a couple bottle of nyquil and go away for about 4 days. I don't need anything else.

Anywho,...al I have for now.

This is pretty cool, Free phone service

I came across this website the other day while googling - http://namshik.com/google-voice-t-mobile-fav5-free-calls/ It intrigued me and since I had an old vonage RTP300 lying around I decided to take a whack at it. It wasn't overly difficult but I did have to consult the blogs to find solutions to common issues other people where having. Hacking the vonage router to allow other services was probably the hardest part. I'm actually pretty impressed with the result though. The clarity is pretty good, there is a slight delay but what can you expect for free?

I'm SO over this whole sickenss thing.

I just came back to work after being out for 3 weeks. My entire family has been sick. Flu, Sinus Infection, Cold and Stomach bug,...all churning in my house as if Pandora herself had shacked up on my sofa. Kelly gets a cold then Charlie gets a sinus infection with fever, then Rose gets the flu, Charlie gets over the sinus infection, Kelly gets stomach virus while she has the cold, Rosie gets over Flu but Charlie gets flu, Rosie gets stomach virus with fever, Rosie gets over stomach virus but trey gets stomach virus,.....sigh. My house smells like a lysol bomb exploded in it. I've finally gotten caught up enough at work to be able to actually post something.

Did you notice that I'm not listed in here anywhere? Thats because I was simultaneously working from home while taking care of everyone. My boss decided he didn't want me around if I was going to be the next Typhoid Mary. you might think thats not so bad and working from home is better than working from work,...yea well,...not in my line of work. It's like making me work on IT issues with a calculator and a pen knife. I'm so happy to see a semblance of normality.

Spiders

People who know me, know that I really don't care much for spiders. We found this little girl walking across low grass at Latta Plantation in Charlotte, NC. She's about 3 inches from abdomen to pedipalps.

The Repetative Nature of Life

Its not hard to see that the world is, to quote Merle Haggard, "Rolling down hill like a snowball headed for Hell". It's gotten me to wondering on the cyclic nature of life. I do believe in God and I have no doubts of the reality of him sending his son to Earth in the form of man to die for our salvation. But there are so many things that are left to wonder. Is it possible that all the myths and legends that abound regarding ancient civilizations and their technologies that have come and gone are actually true? Does man continually build himself to some lofty height only to be brought to his knees by his own greed and want for power? Does the world turn down this path now? Are we hastening to a day of destruction that our world has seen occur many times over? Atlantis, Minoa, Babylon, Egypt, Atecs, Inca, Maya,......The industrialized world has only existed for about 200 years and the modern age itself only 500. Are the apocalyptic worlds of Waterworld and The Postman not far from the truth of what will become of our own world? (I'de like to point out that I'm referring to the books and not the two horrible movies starring Kevin Costner.)
